Happiness

When you are young you build fences around you. As you grow up, there are some people who try to get to you, but you don't let them in. You build some houses for them near your fences for them to be close to you, but not inside. You are afraid of them. Your highest fear is to wake up one morning and find out that there's somebody sleeping by your side, because that would mean that the person you're looking at knows all your secrets, all about you, and then they'll have the key to open that heart you want to keep closed to the public.

Once you've grown up, your fences become weaker. You try to do your best rebuilding them but you can't cope with all the work it implies. And than morning comes. And you wake up and see someone by your side, but they're not asleep as you had imagined. They're looking at you, holding and caressing you. That is the moment when you realize there's no problem with all that. You're actually glad of seeing their face, and they help you rebuilding your fences. But from now on, you're not alone inside them. You have found happiness.
